Abstract

In the past 40 years the United States has seen an unremitting expansion of wealth and income inequality. This generates enormous residential segregation, which in turn shapes local public schools. This study brings together research in economic and educational inequality to focus the examination of three local public schools in the Middlesex County of Massachusetts.
