Visualization of thyroid hormone receptors in Xenopus laevis tadpoles via antibody staining
Date of Award
Tadpoles exposed to exogenous thyroid hormone experience accelerated metamorphosis, including extensive remodeling of the jaw, cranium, and intestinal track. For this Honors Thesis, a research project was performed to determine the onset of Thyroid Hormone Receptor expression in these tissues. To do so, antibodies were used to stain the tadpole tissue and identify the TH receptors.
