The opening of Framingham State in 1839 was a transformational moment in the educational history of our nation. It paved the way for higher education to be extended to segments of our population that previously couldn’t or wouldn’t have gone, including women and minority groups.
The University is planning several events in 2014 to commemorate our historic anniversary. We invite you to join in on the celebrations. We encourage you to explore this site, which features historic photos, a University timeline and information about events and exhibits that will be held throughout the year.
